Denver auditor finds $20M in underreported costs from All In Mile initiative

What Happened

Denver's auditor looked at the Mayor's signature All In Mile High initiative and concluded several alarming things. One the initiative costs more than the Mayor's office has said it does and $20 million of the cost is unreported. The auditor found that tracking of spending has not been satisfactory.

What Should Have Been Done

This continues a pattern of misleading narratives from the mayor and his office. It also parallels the chaos seen in other departments creating deep worry that the Mayor's organizational ability is not up to the task. The first step would be to follow the auditor's suggestions and put financial tracking into place for such an expensive and high profile project.
