Denver's Flock cameras contract operating without auditor signature
What Happened
The city municipal code says the auditor must co-sign contracts as a method of checks and balances against the mayor. The mayor decided he didn't need to follow that section of Denver code and proceeded without the auditor.
This follows after city council voted against the original Flock contract and the mayor lowered the contract price under the threshold for a council vote and once again went rogue with a system that Denverites in general did not want in their city.
What Should Have Been Done
Follow the city municipal code.
